Why Make Stickers?

I recently started learning how to draw using Procreate. Not only is drawing not a skill I’ve worked on or refined, I’ve also never used Procreate before.

I set a goal, a challenge really.

Learn it. And use it as a tool to create something new, something that I haven’t done before.

So, here you have my “something I haven’t done before.”

Which you can get here.

I used a reference photo I took in my garden last spring- a simple picture of one of my Sulphur Cosmos flowers. I love these guys- easy to grow, vibrant, and can be used to create natural dyes.

There is certainly a learning curve to drawing, and learning a new design program. Regardless, I’m proud of my tiny creation. This seemingly easy concept to draw- a flower- wound up having so many intricate little details that I’m happy I captured through the variety of colors I selected.

This little sticker- a mere 2″ diameter- came out so well and looks exactly as I intended. This guy fits nicely on a water bottle, a laptop, or anywhere you feel comfortable sticking stickers on. If you’re like me, it takes some dedicated thought to actually execute the placement of a sticker on to something- it’s so permanent that the commitment can be terrifying.

I hope that when your drive is right, and creativity flows that you can capture that feeling and use it! Do something you haven’t done before- engage in that challenge.
